Help Wanted

The Hartney Area Arena Committee is accepting applications / tenders for the following positions for the upcoming 2020/2021 season:


Full time ice maker – (or two people sharing the position) This position involves making artificial ice for the arena and curling area, as well as maintaining the ice and ice plant during the season. It also involves cleaning the basement, dressing rooms, and outside area of both arena and curling area. This position will begin the last week of September 2020 and end the third week of April 2021. *start and end dates are approximate and subject to change


Part time cleaner – (approximately 20-30 hours per week) This position involves the cleaning of the upstairs/viewing area of the arena. This includes the cleaning of the bathrooms, floors, inside stairwell, viewing area glass, kitchen (including deep fryer grease removal) and other duties as assigned. Major fall and spring clean up included. This position will begin in October 2020 and end the last week of April 2021. *start and end dates are approximate and subject to change


Both of these positions require persons that are able to work independently, while being part of a team. Successful candidates must enjoy working with the public.

The focal point of indoor activity during the cold winter months is the Hartney and Area arena, our beautiful arena that was built with the help of many local volunteers.  
The arena includes a hockey arena, a two-sheet curling rink and a canteen.
