OUR STORY
The Municipality of Grassland was formed in 2015 when the Rural Municipalities of Cameron and Whitewater, along with the Town of Hartney joined together. We are home to a beautiful blend of small towns and rural communities, full of rich history and natural beauty.
Our logo represents the indigenous grasses flourishing within our municipality and is represented as the Big Blue Stem grass where each leaf represents one of our three community hubs: Hartney, Elgin and Minto. Our agricultural area is represented in the wheat sheaths; a great strength and pride for our area. The arc’s represent the municipalities coming together; the golden arc as the Town of Hartney and RM of Cameron joining with the blue arc representing the RM of Whitewater – to come full circle as the Municipality of Grassland. Our communities linked to build, discover and thrive together.
